Breitner impressed by Thailand final

A week after the tournament in Shanghai, the final of the FC Bayern Youth Cup Thailand was held in Bangkok. Some 5,000 talented hopefuls had previously been whittled down to the 120 finalists in 11 preliminary tournaments around the country. FCB Brand Ambassador Paul Breitner was delighted with the high standards at the final before ultimately taking on the challenging task of picking out 16 winners.

The group will now take part in two training camps, in mid-April in Thailand and early May in Germany, before a final ten-strong squad travels to contest the FC Bayern Youth Cup World Final at the Allianz Arena on 15 May. Team Thailand came third in last year’s competition and will again be hoping for a good finishing position this time.

FC Bayern München thanks its partners Wangkanai and the Bundesliga for a magnificent tournament in Bangkok. The Team Austria squad will be chosen on Saturday in the national final at the Uni Credit Center am Kaiserwasser in Vienna. The defending champions will be determined to send another competitive team to this year’s World Final at the Allianz Arena.
