Freshly-crowned champions resume training

After three days off FC Bayern resumed training on Wednesday. Around 1,000 fans flocked to the Säbener Strasse to watch Philipp Lahm, Thomas Müller & Co at work in agreeable temperatures of around 20 degrees. Besides the usual rondo possession drills the freshly-crowned German champions completed passing and shooting exercises supervised by Pep Guardiola. Following the 90-minute workout the session went into extra-time as the FCB stars signed autographs.

Three days before the last Bundesliga match of term against Hannover 96 a total of 21 players reported to the Säbener Strasse facility. Arturo Vidal, who missed the match and the subsequent celebrations in Ingolstadt with a cold, resumed the squad programme. On a less positive note, Guardiola had to make do without Xabi Alonso. The Basque, who is still struggling with pain after sustaining bruised ribs, remained in the performance centre, as did Arjen Robben. The Dutch winger is recovering from a hamstring injury. Holger Badstuber completed a running session, continuing his rehab after sustaining a fractured ankle.
