Be successful, but never forget the weak: FC Bayern is committed to this ideal of the “reputable businessman". The list of clubs rescued from financial ruin by FC Bayern is long, and includes Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC St Pauli. FC Bayern is also aware of its responsibility to the community, above and far beyond football, and fulfils this in many ways. The club set up charity foundation FC Bayern Hilfe eV in 2005 for this very reason. The foundation is headed by FCB president Karl Hopfner, assisted by chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Bayern legend Uli Hoeneß. FC Bayern Hilfe aids many people who have run into difficulties through no fault of their own, via Wings for handicapped e.V., Stiftung Lichtblick Hasenbergl, and Elterninitiative krebskranke Kinder, a parents’ initiative for kids with cancer, and many more. “Those who are successful must help those who are weak," Uli Hoeneß has always insisted. Furthermore, the German record champions have joined the Bavarian Climate Alliance, true to  the motto: playing for the climate, united for climate protection.
