Bayern Women on international duty

FC Bayern's Women's team will be heavily represented as qualifying for the 2015 World Cup in Canada resumes this weekend. Two matchdays remain with a trip to the premier Women's international soccer competition at stake. Eight teams have already qualified for the tournament next year (Canada, China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Switzerland and England), and 16 other teams will look to seal their spot in the coming week.

A total of nine FC Bayern players will be on international duty. Bayern captain Melanie Behringer and Melanie Leupolz will both represent Germany as they take on Russia in Moscow on Saturday, September 13. A point will be enough to secure qualification. Not on international duty are Vanessa Bürki and Caroline Abbé as their country, Switzerland, is already qualified. Nora Holstad will be with Norway though to try and guarantee their place in Canada with a win against Albania.
