Watch Bayern vs Werder Bremen in the US

The international break is over and the focus shifts back to the Bundesliga. This weekend, FC Bayern will take on Werder Bremen on matchday 8 and fans in the US can watch the game on Saturday, October 18 at 9:30 am EST via GolTV or via KlowdTV's online streaming service along with all the other Bundesliga action during the weekend.

Pep Guardiola's team goes into this game as league leaders and undefeated so far this season with both the best offense and defense. It also spells the beginning of a congested month of fixtures for the club with seven games in 22 days. A good start to this series of games is imperative despite this being the first ever encounter between these two sides where one (Bayern) is first and the other (Bremen) is last in the standings. Historically Bayern have never lost at home when leading the league and playing a last-placed team. Form definitely favors Bayern here but caution must be had, as Guardiola outlined in his pre-match press conference, "It all starts eleven on eleven and the scoreline at 0:0."

Things have not looked as bright for Bremen on the other hand. Robin Dutt's team is one of only two teams (Freiburg the other) without a league win yet this season. Bremen have not beaten Bayern in the last 13 games, their last win coming in 2008 in Munich (Claudio Pizarro then on the scoresheet for Werder). This season they have also allowed the most shots on goal (111) and have the worst pass completion rate (67%). However, they are the team that have beaten Bayern more than anyone else in the Bundesliga historically (26) and have also scored the most goals against them (119).

Last fun fact: Arjen Robben has yet to lose a game against Bremen and has been involved in at least one goal in every fixture he has participated in.
