GPS visits FCB Academy in Munich

Earlier this month, FC Bayern and Global Premier Soccer (GPS) announced an extensive youth partnership in the US that will bring over 55,000 kids in the US the knowledge and expertise of FCB's notable Youth Academy. Part of the partnership will consist of access to Bayern's Youth Academy curriculum for GPS coaches, and things already got under way this past weekend.

GPS officials Joe and Peter Bradley along with a number of US coaches were in Munich for a three-day workshop at Bayern's Säbener Strasse youth academy. There they met with junior team operations manager, Sebastian Dremmler, who among other things, introduced the philosophy of the club to the visitors from GPS. The itinerary was packed with visits to several training sessions and matches, ranging from the first team all the way down to the U12s to observe how Bayern's academy and system functioned. A little added bonus was a trip to watch FC Bayern's 4:0 win against Hoffenheim on Saturday at the Allianz Arena.

Overall, it was a prodcutive and informative first step of what will be an ongoing process and dialogue between FC Bayern and GPS. Dremmler and a delegation from Bayern will return the favor and head over to Boston, Massachusetts early next month to assess and inspect GPS's facilities.
