On matchday 9 of the Allianz Women's Bundesliga, FC Bayern will once more face FF USV Jena this coming Sunday, November 9 at 14:00 local time. Bayern played and beat Jena this past weekend in the DFB Cup thanks to a late goal from Vivianne Miedema. With both Frankfurt and Wolfsburg already winning their games, a win is the only thing that will put Bayern back atop the league standings.
FCB coach Thomas Wörle said, "We've already seen how good Jena can be against the top teams in the league and that's a warning to us. We've also seen it in our game against them. Jena is a very stable and difficult-to-play team. My team kept their composure, though, and won a close match in the Cup. On Sunday I'm expecting a similar tight and hard-fought match."
Statistically Bayern definitely has the advantage with six wins and one draw from seven games in Jena and 11 wins overall in 14 matches. That said, they can take nothing for granted and in their last league encounter Bayern led 2:1 only for Jena to equalize at the end. Suffice to say, it should be a gripping match.
