Injury Crisis

Robin Benzing ruled out for six weeks

FC Bayern Basketball will be without Germany international Robin Benzing for the next six weeks. Ahead of today’s final home Euroleague game of the campaign against Polish Champions Turow Zgorzelec (11th December, 20:15 CET), the 25-year-old Forward picked up an injury. Team doctor Jochen Hahne later diagnosed the problem as ligament damage in his right ankle

Head coach Svetislav Pesic is already without captain Bryce Taylor, who is yet to take to the court for FCBB this season, and Vasilije Micic (Elbow), who will return in January. Anton Gavel and Paul Zipser have returned to action recently having suffered injuries earlier in the season.

Robin Benzing is FCBB’s longest serving player; he has been with the club for three years. Benzing is only three points behind the club’s current Bundesliga topscorer Chevon Troutman (1,159 points in 108 games, he now plays for Zielona Gora in Poland).
