The women of FC Bayern began preparations today for the second half of the Allianz Women’s Bundesliga.
In over 30 training sessions, Coach Thomas Wörle seeks to prepare his team for the second half of the season, which for the FC Bayern ladies starts back up again on February 15 at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The FC Bayern women will head into the second half in second place right after defending champions VfL Wolfsburg.
Injured players Lena Lotzen and Sarah Romert were absent for the beginning of training as well as Nora Holstad, Raffaella Manieri, and Katja Schroffenegger, who are currently with their respective national teams. Austria international Carina Wenninger is back training with the team after recovering from an injury.
After the first week of training, FC Bayern will head to Magdeburg for the DFB Hallen Cup before heading off to Florida for the Allianz Winter Camp from January 21 – 29. During their trip to Florida, the FC Bayern ladies will face the University of Florida Gators as well as the U.S. U-20 national team.
The first home match for the FC Bayern women will be a top one as they host league leaders Wolfsburg at the Grünwalder Stadion on February 22nd at 2:00 p.m. CET.
