FC Bayern Munich has announced a media partnership with Univision Deportes, the sports division of Univision Communications Inc. and leading media company serving Hispanic America, to broadcast FC Bayern Munich Magazine, the club’s weekly highlight show during the season, in Spanish-language.
FC Bayern Munich Magazine consists of 90-minutes of replays of full-length games from across the Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup, as well as 90-minutes of exclusive player interviews, behind-the-scenes segments, pre-and-post-game press conferences and friendly matches.
Univision Deportes will air the full program every week. Additionally, Univision Deportes Network (UDN) will air a weekly segment on the network’s flagship Sunday sports show, Republica Deportiva.
“The partnership with Univision is the next step in our goal to bring FC Bayern closer to the American audience,” said Rudolf Vidal, Managing Director of FC Bayern Munich U.S. “Univision Deportes will enable us to reach millions of Hispanics, a key audience for the growth of the sport and the club in the U.S. market.”
Soccer is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and Hispanics are largely fueling that growth. This strategic partnership will bring one of the biggest clubs, FC Bayern Munich, to Hispanic America Univision Deportes’ broadcast and digital platforms.
Eric Conrad, Vice President of Sports Programming at Univision Deportes, commented: “Univision Deportes is excited about bringing FC Bayern’s World Cup-winning roster and content to our passionate and engaged soccer audience. With this partnership, we continue to expand our sports content portfolio with one of the most popular clubs in the world, a club with a tradition of success and rich with star players that resonate with our audience.”
FC Bayern opened its first overseas office in New York City in 2014 to engage with the millions of FC Bayern and soccer fans in the U.S. as well as to internationalize the brand.
