FC Bayern women head to training camp in Switzerland

The FC Bayern women will spend a week in Switzerland’s Kanton Wallis (Valais) for their pre-season training camp. Five days of training will be followed by a high-profile international pre-season friendly against Paris Saint-Germain at the Valais Women’s Cup.

“We will use the time in the training camp to bring the team closer together,” said coach Thomas Wörle who will have everyone at his disposal except the long-term injured Katharina Baunach and Sarah Romert. The team will hold two training sessions a day along with team meetings to lay the foundations for their title defense and a season that will see them compete across three different competitions. “From a sporting perspective we will place a big focus on tactics and fitness. At the end we’ll see where we stand ahead of the season in our friendly match.”

On Friday evening (19:00 CEST) FC Bayern will take on French superpower PSG in the semi-final of the Valais Cup. The other semi-final will feature other French side Olympique Lyon against Swiss champions FC Zürich. The final and the match for third place will take place that following Sunday.
