The 2015/2016 season will begin with Bayern Basketball playing at home against the cup winner Oldenburg on Friday 2nd October. After nearly seven weeks of intense preparation, everyone is excited to get up and running.

Before the first tip-off of the new season, coach Svetislav Pesic, vice-president Rudolf Schels, managing directors Marko Pesic and Volker Stix gave their evaluations of the situation. Pesic emphasized, when asked about the aim for the season was, that it is important to take it "game by game, and the first task is on Friday against Oldenburg." He also said that his team has a lot of potential. "Is everything goes to plan and we stay fit and healthy, we will be champions."

After nearly retaining the title last June, there is a feeling of optimism about the upcoming season around the Audi Dome. "The fact that we didn’t win the title last season hasn’t dampened our spirits. The managing directors and the coach have done a great job with the squad," said Rudolf Schels. "After the painful defeat in the fifth play-off it wasn’t easy, but we addressed it directly, analyzed the season and restored calmness in the squad," said Pesic.

Coach Pesic said he was happy with the changes he made to the team. He said that one of the most important things was to "look at what was going on in the youth program and to try and develop young players. The team is on the right path," having called up youth players Sebastian Schmitt, Karim Jallow and Dejan Kovacevic.

The two Bayern captains had to face the press and answer some questions. "We have strengthened as a team. We will be able to offer more energy and athleticism than last year," said Taylor. Although Alex Renfroe, Paul Zipser, Anton Gavel and K.C. Rivers all arrived back late from the European Championships, the team spirit is brilliant. Their teammate Djedovic praised the newcomers. "They understand how we work as a team and have integrated into it well." Pesic agreed, saying "we have the perfect team".
