Euro qualification standings

A number of the FC Bayern women’s players were on duty with their national teams during the most recent international break. While some contested either friendlies or qualifiers, a number of others were invited to their teams’ performance tests.

Euro qualification

Group 1:

Lisa Evans played for Scotland in their 10-0 win over Macedonia at home. The Scottish women currently lead their group with 12 points from 4 games.

Group 2:

Veronica Boquete’s Spain was successful in their qualifiers against Ireland (3-0) and Portugal (2-0), though the FC Bayern player did not join after only recently coming back from injury. Spain currently leads the group, followed by FCB keeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela’s Finland in second place.

Group 5:

The German women’s national team remains atop Group 5 and contested a friendly against England. Melike Pekel’s Turkey earned a draw against favorites Russia at home but fell to Croatia 0-3, putting them currently in last place in the group.

Group 6:

While Raffaella Manieri and Italy were not on duty, Switzerland contested two qualifiers with captain Caroline Abbé and Vanessa Bürki onboard. The Swiss were successful in both qualifiers, winning 8-1 away to Northern Ireland and 5-1 over the Czech Republic at home, in which Vanessa Bürki scored. Switzerland currently leads their group and are on track for qualification.

Vivianne Miedema and the Netherlands won their friendly against Japan 3-1
