Bayern head into winter break unbeaten

FC Bayern head into the winter break unbeaten following a 2-0 win against 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam on Sunday. The victory capped off a simply unforgettable year in which Thomas Wörle's team went unbeaten, won the Bundesliga and are currently leading in the standings. The unbeaten streak is now at 35 league matches.

American Gina Lewandowski was on the scoresheet once more to give Bayern the 1-0 lead ('21) before Vivianne Miedema secured all three points ('48) in front of 2,380 spectators in Potsdam. This was the seventh win in a row and means that Bayern go into the winter break with an impressive 12-point lead over second-place VfL Wolfsburg.

On a sadder note, FC Bayern also bid farewell to two American players Katie Stengel and Kristie Mewis, who will return to the US in the winter. Stengel was Bayern's top scorer last season while Mewis will return to the Boston Breakers after her loan spell in Munich ended.
