Center Andreas Seiferth has left FCBB to join Bayreuth. The 26-year-old only moved to Bayern at the start of the season but has now signed a deal with the fellow BBL side until the end of the campaign. “Andreas has conducted himself impeccably and we wish him all the best for the future,” explained CEO Marko Pesic. “We have a lot of options in that position and we spoke to Andy, telling him that if someone came in for him, we wouldn’t stand in his way.”
Andreas Seiferth went on to add that he was thankful to the club for agreeing to terminate his contract. “I struggled here in Munich and things didn’t go the way I had hoped. However, I would like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to come here and work under Svetislav Pesic.”
The Germany star made 14 league appearances for FCBB (2.9 points, 1.6 rebounds per game) and also played for the Bavarians in the Euroleague.
RENFROE AND SAVANOVIC NOT TAKING PART IN ALLSTAR GAME
FCBB duo Alex Renfroe and Dusko Savanovic have pulled out of this year’s “Beko BBL Allstar Game.” The duo have withdrawn from the event with injuries, as has Paul Zipser, who was due to take place in the dunking contest. Bayern will, however, be represented by Bryce Taylor, Nihad Djedovic and Deon Thompson at the event.
