The FC Bayern women kicked off their week-long winter training camp in Cadiz, Spain, in preparation for the upcoming Allianz Women’s Bundesliga season and DFB-Pokal.
“Above all we’ll be working in the tactics area,” said coach Thomas Wörle. Over the course of the eight days in the Atlantic coastal town, the team will conduct two training sessions per day along with stabilization and reviews. The Bayern women will conclude their training camp with a high-profile friendly against English top side Arsenal Ladies. “It’ll be an interesting comparison and dress rehearsal for the league restart – we’ll be put to the test,” said Wörle. Kickoff will be on February 6 at 4 pm CET at the Olympic Stadium in Seville, with the team heading back to Munich on February 7.
Almost all of the team traveled to Spain, including Lena Lotzen and Sarah Romert, who are both recovering from injury. Katharina Baunach was unable to join the team due to illness.
FC Bayern kick off the Allianz Women’s Bundesliga restart as table leaders on February 14 against 1. FC Köln at 2 pm CET at the Grünwalder Stadion. The FCB women face SC Sand in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals in April.
