The terrible events which happened on 11 September about 15 years ago shocked the world. As part of the stay in New York City an FC Bayern delegation headed by chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge visited the September 11 Memorial. “We've come with great humility to mourn the victims of the September 11 terror attacks,” Rummenigge said in his address to Josh Cherwin, the memorial's Director of Institutional Advancement. “Around 3,000 people lost their lives, including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. We will soon see the 15th anniversary of this tragedy. We will never forget it.”
Rummenigge left a bouquet of flowers on behalf of FC Bayern to mourn the people who lost their lives on this day. Subsequently the delegation visited the September 11 Memorial Museum, where they met museum president Joe Daniels.
