Franck Ribéry sustained a thigh injury when exercising during the international break. "At first I feared it would be more severe," the Frenchman revealed in the FC Bayern Matchday Show before Saturday's home match against Gladbach. Fortunately he was mistaken: "I'm feeling much better already," said Ribéry, who aims to resume training after an MRT scan on Monday.
Faißt scores for Germany
Five Munich women featured in Germany's 4-2 victory over Austria, Steffi Jones's first match as Germany women's coach. Leonie Maier, Verena Faißt and sub Sara Däbritz made appearances for Germany, whereas Manuela Zinsberger and Carina Wenninger featured for Austria. The 9,459 crowd in Regensburg saw Faißt score after 74 minutes. Anja Mittag scored twice and Lena Petermann netted from the spot for Germany.
