Friday will be the third time in five World Cup qualifing cycles that the US will begin the final round with a home match against Mexico. Four days later the team will travel to San Jose in search of their first win on Costa Rican soil.
Julian Green will return to the USMNT camp after scoring in both October friendlies against Cuba and New Zealand. His recent run of good form in national team performances earned praise from Jurgen Klinsmann. The USMNT head coach told reporters "Julian Green is back in the picture... He scored another nice goal today, but overall he's becoming more mature, he's becoming stronger, he's far more confident. It's really nice to see his development.” Green will look to continue making an impact as the team prepares this week. Green made his international debut in a 2-2 draw against Mexico on April 2, 2014.
Green is one of 7 Bundesliga players called up to the US national team
