Instead of enjoying a holiday, Arjen Robben reported to the Säbener Strasse HQ on Monday afternoon, continuing his individual programme. The 33-year-old performed dribbling and passing exercises, took shots and headers and turned in a number of laps, working up a sweat in hot summer temperatures.
The Netherlands captain is pursuing an individual programme to be fit for the upcoming internationals. Robben will miss the friendly against Morocco on Wednesday 31 May, but will subsequently join his Elftal teammates in Rotterdam, where Dick Advocaat's troops encounter Côte d'Ivoire in a friendly on Sunday 4 June before contesting a World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg on 9 June.
