Four young American players selected to train in Munich

The third annual FC Bayern National ID Camps concluded last month with four young American players selected to travel to Munich later this fall to train and play with the FC Bayern Junior teams.

The Residential Camps in Savannah, GA, and Biddeford, ME, held in June saw over 175 boys of 2005 and 2006 ages and 10 girls of 2001 and 2002. Young talents were coached and evaluated by FC Bayern staff coming from Munich.

“We have been please by the quality of the players attending the ID South and ID North Camp. We are looking forward to seeing GPS & Affiliate Clubs players in the West Coast in August”, commented Sebastian Dremmler of FC Bayern.

Four players selected already will travel to Munich this fall for a training week with FC Bayern Youth Academy in its new facilities:

Alejandro Paula, GPS Florida West
Taylor Suarez, GPS Carolina
Jackson Akin, GPS Vermont
Lucy Harrison-Caldwell, GPS Massachusetts

The partnership between the club and GPS, which began in 2014, aims to grow the level of the game in North America, bringing the FC Bayern coaching philosophy and curriculum to now over 85,000 children and 6,000 coaches into 101 soccer clubs in over 22 states.
