Manuel Neuer returns to training

FC Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer has donned his gloves again. After the record champions’ number one was able to "run at 100 per cent" again on Monday, the next step followed on Thursday. Under the guidance of goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic, the 31-year-old shot-stopper was able to complete his first specific goalkeeping session. Neuer spent 20 minutes catching and throwing a few balls without overexerting himself. "It feels good to be back on the pitch," read the world number one goalkeeper's post on Instagram.

Bundesliga coaches back FC Bayern

In the opinion of the Bundesliga coaches, FC Bayern are the favourites to win the German title again this season. In a survey carried out by the German Press Agency (DPA), 16 of the 18 coaches backed the record champions to lift the Bundesliga title again with the other two opting for Borussia Dortmund. Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti is happy to accept the role as favourites. "Of course, we want to be the champions again. The challengers are the same as last year with Borussia Dortmund obviously leading the way."
