FC Bayern lost Tuesday's Audi Cup match against Liverpool 3-0. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, head coach Carlo Ancelotti and the players assessed the match after the final whistle.
Reaction to Bayern v Liverpool
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: "Basically Liverpool were always one gear up: more vigour, more pace. But you have to keep in mind Liverpool are a bit more prepared. We've played five matches so far and we've lost four, so we have to turn the corner. We have to get into our best shape quickly, get fit, pick up pace and win again. The coach will certainly rotate his squad on Saturday, when we'll contest the Supercup. But we definitely won't just concede the game tomorrow. We have to try to get a good result. We still have two weeks but time can pass by quickly."
Carlo Ancelotti: "We're not yet in an ideal condition, and we haven't played well in defence or up front. It'll certainly be better on Saturday. We usually don't concede as many goals. The problem is clear, we need more balance. Liverpool are in better condition. They'll soon start their league campaign as well as Champions League qualifying. They were very strong on the break. We've conceded many goals we usually stifle by means of good balance. We're aiming to be in ideal condition on 18 August."
Thomas Müller: "Only the first ten minutes were good today, then we made a mistake and conceded the opener. Subsequently we didn't manage to play as a team over the full distance. We're at a point where we aren't at 100 percent in any respect. We have to look ahead as soon as possible. It hurts when we don't play well. We absolutely have to show a reaction."
Jürgen Klopp: "If you win 3-0 against Bayern almost everything is superb. But we didn't play enough football in the first half, so Bayern had possession too often and we had to run a lot. In the second half my team demonstrated how well they're able to play."
Emre Can: "We turned in a very good display today. We know we have a strong team, we only have to be consistent. But you mustn't forget it was only a friendly."
