FC Bayern began the new week of training on Monday with renewed vigour. After three days off, Carlo Ancelotti welcomed a small group – 14 FCB players are currently away on international duty – to the open training session in the afternoon. The lads certainly put in a great shift.
Manuel Neuer, Franck Ribéry, Rafinha, Javi Martínez, Jérôme Boateng, Sven Ulreich and Christian Früchtl worked hard on the training ground alongside several youth players in front of a large number of fans. Afterwards the pros went on to the new fitness area to complete more energy-sapping drills.
The next few days will see the squad gradually get back to full strength with the return of the international players. Then Ancelotti will be able to focus on the first busy period of the season with a game every days on average in September. The first fixture is away to Hoffenheim on Saturday on Bundesliga matchday three.
