Building works at Säbener Straße

New turf for future success

Increase font size Text size

Summer tends to mean Säbener Straße is rather quiet, yet while the players are away with their national teams or on a deserved holiday there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to lay the foundations for future FC Bayern success. It means there are currently a number of renovation works going on at the FCB training ground.

The training pitches in particular are being spruced up after the long and strenuous 2017/18 campaign. For example, pitch 1 is being completely returfed. It is one of Bayern’s primary pitches and thanks to its curtain can provide a shield from prying eyes. These works will be completed before the team return to training on 2 July.

There are bigger works taking place on another training pitch where large diggers and other machines are expanding the playing area and also installing undersoil heating. This project will be completed by August.

Works on the old youth club and sports ball began before the summer break, and the progress is already clear to see. The shell of the new office building and the windows are already in place. Work on the interior will now begin and the façade will be added. However, it will still be some time before the new offices can be used.
