Welcome to Texas! The FC Bayern Reserves, also known as FC Bayern II, have landed in Dallas, Texas for a week-long training camp ahead of the second half of the season. The Reserves, also known as "Bayern Amateure", are intended to be the final step between Bayern's youth teams and the first team, composed of promising young players between the age of 18 and 23 along with a few veteran players allowed to provide experience.
"We're really excited for the opportunity to train here," said head coach Holger Seitz. "We're going to use this to lay the foundation for our championship ambition in the second half of the season." As such, the team will have a strict schedule while in the States with two training sessions a day, additional conditioning and two exhibition games against local Major League Soccer side FC Dallas, the big finale being Saturday February 9th (check FC Dallas for tickets).
Through the partnership with FC Dallas, FC Bayern will be given access to the training facility with the team staying right across the training pitches and stadium. A total of 23 players traveled to the States including new signing Taylor Booth who is part of the U19 team but will take part in the camp to prepare for the second half of the season as well.
