The weather in Munich was terrible on Sunday morning but that made the news from Säbener Straße even more enjoyable. David Alaba and Kingsley Coman were able to join in with the FC Bayern training session. Both have been sidelined through injury in recent weeks and they also missed out in the game against VfL Wolfsburg.
Alaba’s return came a few days ago when he began training with his team-mates again but Coman was back on the training ground for the first time since the hamstring injury sustained in the game against Hertha. It remains to be seen if he will be available for the second leg of the Round of 16 tie against Liverpool on Wednesday.
“Kingsley feels good. We’ll have to see what happens in training. There’s loads of time left,” said Hasan Salihamidzic on Saturday when he was asked about the chances of the Frenchman playing. And Niko Kovac was also cautious with his response: “We’ll have to wait and see what happens in training tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday. We’ve got four days and we want to make the most of that time.”
