The countdown to the start of the season is on! After a day off, Bayern today started the final week of preparations ahead of the Bundesliga opener against FC Schalke 04 at the Allianz Arena on Friday.
Serenade for Thomas Müller
The FC Bayern players were in good spirits as they got to work in glorious sunshine. There was plenty of laughter and the team provided a serenade for Thomas Müller a day after his 31st birthday. As in previous years, it is down to FC Bayern to mount a successful start to the new campaign. FCB remain unbeaten in their last eight Bundesliga openers (seven wins, one draw).
A number of details were clarified for the new season on Monday – Adrian Fein, Alexander Nübel and Joshua Zirkzee have the following shirt numbers for the coming season
