The SAP Garden is located in the heart of the Bavarian capital, Munich, in the world-famous Munich Olympic Park. At least 20 FC Bayern Basketball matches in the opening season will be played in this high-tech arena. In addition to the home matches of FC Bayern Basketball and EHC Red Bull Munich, up to 40 other sports and sports-related events are planned. Three additional underground ice rinks are used by the Rookie Bulls Munich junior teams for training and games.

History of the Arena
Origin of the name
SAP secured the naming rights for the multifunctional sports arena in September 2018. As part of an extensive naming campaign, around 11,000 name suggestions were submitted between February and March 2019. In the final public vote, the winning name 'SAP Garden' received more than 45 percent of the votes.
Start of construction
Excavation work on the site of the former Olympic cycling stadium in Munich's Olympic Park began on 13 January 2020. More than 270,000 cubic metres of gravel and soil have been excavated in over two years. This is equivalent to the excavation of well over 1,000 detached houses or the contents of almost 1.1 billion cans of Red Bull.
On 23 February 2021, the foundation stone for the SAP Garden was laid by client and stadium operator Red Bull Stadion München GmbH.
Roofing ceremony
The last bolt of the 5,000 tonne steel roof structure was installed on 26 May 2023. 18 lattice girders, each weighing almost 170 tonnes, form the framework for the roof of the multifunctional sports arena, which is planted with a flower meadow of almost 8,000 square metres. The total roof area, including the roof terrace, PV systems, technical walkway and drainage strip, is 13,094 square metres.
Hospitality Areas in SAP Garden
As an innovative high-tech arena, the SAP Garden has a high-quality and comprehensive hospitality infrastructure. Together with the exclusive hospitality partner DO & CO, all the needs and requirements of sporting events of all sizes are catered for. The culinary experience is celebrated with guests and fans on three levels. With a total capacity of 1,111 seats, the hospitality area offers space for both the new and the traditional.
Mobile Order
You can find the Mobile Order feature in the FC Bayern Basketball app. If you want to avoid queues at the kiosks on match days, you can use this service. In the FCBB app, click on ARENA/SAP Garden in the navigation bar to access the ‘Mobile Order’ service. Then simply pre-order your food and drinks on your mobile phone and collect them from the kiosk of your choice.
WIFI
Free WiFi is available in the SAP Garden. Activate the WLAN function on your end device, connect to the 'SAP GARDEN FREE WIFI' and log in with your e-mail address. If you have not yet registered for the SAP Garden newsletter, now is the time to do so.
