Max Eberl, born on 21 September 1973 in Bogen, Lower Bavaria, was appointed the German record champions' board member for sport by the FC Bayern supervisory board on 1 March 2024. For him it's a return to the club where he made his first steps as a footballer from the age of six, through all the junior teams up to his professional debut. Eberl will be responsible for the men's and women's first teams as well as the reserves at FC Bayern.
Before joining the FCB board, Eberl had already spent around 30 years in professional football, first as a player and then in management, where he gained valuable experience. At his other professional clubs VfL Bochum, Greuther Fürth and Borussia Mönchengladbach, the defender played a total of 232 competitive matches before starting his career in management at Mönchengladbach in 2005. After a stint in charge at RB Leipzig, where he won the DFB Cup and Supercup, his path finally led him back to Munich, back to FC Bayern, where it all began.
