On 1 August 2017, the FC Bayern Campus became the new home of the record champions' young talent. A total of eight football pitches are located on the 30-hectare site. All the youth teams from the Under-9s to Under-19s, as well as the FC Bayern women's and girls' teams train and play here.
With seating for 2,500 spectators, the facility is a real jewel in the Bavarians’ crown. As well as the Bayern Under-17 and Under-19 Bundesliga home fixtures, the Under-19 home games in the UEFA Youth League are played here. At the back of the campus there's also a sports hall for basketball, handball and table tennis. There are also several mini-football pitches as well as beach soccer and beach volleyball courts on the site. The campus is also ideally equipped for athletics and rehabilitation training with, for example, a small fitness park complete with a fitness hill. In the clubhouse, on the front part of the campus, there's a bistro for visitors.
The Allianz FC Bayern Academy is at the heart of the new youth performance centre. In addition to the coaches' and staff offices and a 1000 square metre athletics and rehabilitation area, there are 35 apartments for talented athletes who do not come from the greater Munich area. "We now have an academy with tutors, doctors, sports psychologists and good coaches that we can be proud of," Jochen Sauer, FC Bayern Campus Director said with some pleasure. "We’re going full steam ahead here to give our youth players the optimal training and bring them closer to our first team," added Campus Sporting Director Hermann Gerland. On the FC Bayern campus, the young talents always have their sights set on their big goal, as just three kilometres east of the campus, the outline of the Allianz Arena is clearly visible.
