#HeartBeatFinal - Review of Siemens’ grand FC Bayern Pulse season finale
What a season finale, what a #HeartBeatFinal from our partner Siemens! Even now, more than two weeks after the 5:2 victory over FC Augsburg on the 34th matchday, our pulse is still racing when we think back to the many highlights of the game. Robert Lewandowski's 41st goal of the season: legendary! The farewell of Javi Martínez, Jérôme Boateng and David Alaba: heartbreaking! The joy over the 31st Bundesliga title: unlimited!
The hearts of 85 FC Bayern fans beat faster for yet another reason. In Siemens' #HeartBeatFinal, they supported a good cause by measuring their heartbeat: for every heartbeat registered with a fitness tracker on their wrist during the match, Siemens donated 1 Cent to We Kick Corona. At the final whistle, the result was clear: 936,318 heartbeats were registered and a considerable donation goes to the initiative of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.
Among the 85 participants of the #HeartBeatFinal were Robert Schweighofer and Sophia Larcher of the fan club Red Eagles Austria. We accompanied the two and captured their best heartbeat moments.
"The #FCBayernPulse has a very big meaning for us because we could see how our heart beats during the games and how intensely we are involved," Sophia said during the shoot. "Thanks to #HeartBeatFinal, we feel closely connected to the players and to the game - as if we were there live!"
#HeartBeatFinal as a crowning finale
The #HeartBeatFinal was the grand finale of the #FCBayernPulse, a Siemens initiative aimed at measuring FC Bayern's heartbeat during a total of seven Bundesliga matches in the 2020/21 season. The data was used to show the connection between fans and players and to reveal the rhythm of the game.
For this purpose, the heart rate of the participating fans was measured during the matches using fitness trackers. Siemens uses the measuring results in combination with other match data to determine the intensity and tension of a match.
