FC Bayern were beaten 4-2 away at TSG Hoffenheim in the last Bundesliga match of the season. Mathys Tel and Alphonso Davies handed Bayern a two-goal lead inside six minutes, Maximilian Beier pulling one back for TSG early in the first half. Andrej Kramarić then bagged a hat-trick to turn the game around in the second half. The result means Bayern finish third on 72 points, one short of Stuttgart, who beat Gladbach.
The Bavarians started with Manuel Neuer in goal and Matthijs de Ligt, Eric Dier and Dayot Upamecano in defence. Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, Leon Goretzka, Konrad Laimer and Davies took up station in midfield, with Thomas Müller and Tel in attack. Pavlović had to replaced with a knock in the first half, Lovro Zvonarek taking over. Bryan came on for Tel in the closing stages.
Early action
Munich hit the ground running and almost took the lead when Tel saw a shot saved in the first minute, but the opener arrived three minutes later, Davies' cross finding Müller, who invited Tel to head home from close range. Bayern soon won the ball from a throw, Tel squaring to Davies, who beat keeper Oliver Baumann to double the advantage. The hosts gave an immediate response when Ihlas Bebou intercepted a Neuer pass and found Kramarić, who lost his balance but managed to set up Beier, who fired in with only eight minutes gone.
The pace calmed down now, with Baumann denying Laimer before Neuer saved from Beier and Bebou at the other end. A Müller shot was thwarted by a last-ditch block and Neuer denied Kramarić shortly before half-time.
Bogeyman Kramarić
Beier hit the side-netting shortly after the restart, with Davies seeing a shot deflected behind. Kimmich put a free-kick over the bar and Müller fired just wide, but TSG upped the pressure now and Neuer was called into action by Kramarić. Beier miscued but Hoffenheim levelled when Bebou invited Kramarić to find the net from close range.
Müller aimed too high before things got away from Bayern when Hoffenheim struck twice to deadly effect. Kramarić found the net from 20 yards before beating Neuer after TSG won the ball at the edge of the Bayern box.
