There's no let-up for FC Bayern on the Audi Summer Tour in Asia! Three days after the 2-1 defeat in the first tour friendly against Champions League winners Manchester City, coach Thomas Tuchel's side take on local club Kawasaki Frontale in the second Audi Football Summit. Kick-off at Tokyo's National Stadium is at 12:00 CEST on Saturday - and you can watch the game live on FC Bayern TV PLUS, or on Sky or DAZN (in Germany).
Tuchel: "Minjae will play tomorrow"
Before the Bayern players leave for Singapore and the second stop of the tour in on Sunday, Leroy Sané & Co. will test their skills against the J1 League team from the Kawasaki metropolis. New signing Minjae Kim is likely to make his Bayern debut, as Tuchel confirmed at the pre-match press conference: "We're all really looking forward to his debut. Hopefully it will give him another boost, so we can get him a bit further along to his performance limit. Minjae brings a lot of quality to our squad." Mathys Tel, who scored the equaliser against City but was absent from training on Friday with a "slight infection" (Tuchel) is still doubtful.
Reunion for Gnabry
One of the players who probably knows the upcoming opponents Kawasaki best is Serge Gnabry. The 28-year-old spent his holiday in Tokyo during the summer break and trained at the ground of the four-time J1 League winners. "I had a very cool time here. I was able to train at Kawasaki, a big thanks to the club for making that work, it helped me a lot," said the attacking all-rounder.
Introducing Kawasaki Frontale
In the game against the Japanese side, who are in the middle of their league campaign and should therefore be well-drilled, Tuchel says the aim on Saturday is to repeat the good performance against City - in and out of possession. His counterpart, Frontale's successful coach Tōru Oniki said before the showpiece match: "We want to demonstrate Kawasaki's style and play aggressive football. The game will attract a lot of attention."
