Germany Women’s international Annike Krahn, selected to perform the draw for the second round of this season’s DFB German Cup, has handed Ottmar Hitzfeld and his men a home tie against long-term rivals Borussia Mönchenglabach, relegated from the Bundesliga last season.

The team from the Lower Rhine, where the Director of Sport is former Bayern star Christian Ziege, recently beat the Reds in a friendly, as a weakened Munich XI fell 2-1 at Borussia Park on 18 July in a match arranged as part of Marcell Jansen’s transfer from Gladbach to Bavaria in the summer.

The second round ties will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday 30 and 31 October. The Allianz Arena will see action on both nights, as TSV 1860 Munich were also favoured with a home draw against FSV Mainz 05. Details of ticketing for the Gladbach encounter will be released once the precise scheduling of the tie is announced.
