Reaction to Frankfurt v Bayern

Coach: I’m very pleased with that display

Bayern left it late to beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga last Saturday, but the men from Munich hit the goal trail and settled the issue nice and early in the midweek cup meeting between the sides. The Bavarian visitors led 3-0 after half-an-hour, adding another after the interval to progress smoothly to the DFB Cup quarter-finals. “That’s the way I want it,” general manager Uli Hoeneß said afterwards.

Reaction to Eintracht Frankfurt v Bayern:

Uli Hoeneß: “We were extremely good, which is why Eintracht never stood a chance. That’s the way I want it.“

Louis van Gaal: “I’m very pleased with that display. We kept our shape and discipline right through to the 75th minute. It was a little easier for us today, because Frankfurt set out to attack. And we also played extremely well. Every win makes us more confident. It’s important to us to stay in contention in the cup.“

Miroslav Klose: “We let the ball do the work today, and that meant our opponents had to do all the running. It was crucial that we took our early chances. The outcome is clear-cut, and it’s something we have to build on in the weeks ahead.“
