Inaugural fan consultation a great success

“I’ll be a President for all the fans!” Uli Hoeneß declared after his election to the top office at Bayern at last autumn’s AGM. “I intend to institute regular consultation meetings, where I’ll speak directly to the fans about their wishes, ideas and problems.” Some of those present at the AGM may have regarded the notion sceptically, but Uli Hoeneß is a man of his word!

Some 250 members responded to a call in the match programme and via fcbayern.de, submitting their desired topics for a personal discussion with the club President. The executive committee sat together prior to the Champions League match in Florence, sifted through the suggestions, and made a final selection.

Committee meets sixteen fans

Sixteen lucky club members made the inaugural cut, and gathered at the Allianz Arena in advance of Saturday’s Bundesliga fixture against Freiburg. The group was many and varied, ranging from an away season ticket holder based in Munich, via the chairman of an established fan club from Franconia, to a supporter living 600 kilometres away from Munich. The committee deliberately chose a cross-section of FCB’s highly diverse fan base.

The entire executive committee of the members’ club attended the consultation. Hoeneß was joined by his vice-presidents Dr Fritz Scherer and Bernd Rauch, fan liaison officer Raimond Aumann, ticketing systems manager Oliver Meßthaler, and Allianz Arena managing director Jürgen Muth.
