Ribéry out but leaders target win in Frankfurt

Manchester United are in everyone’s thoughts, but Eintracht Frankfurt are Bayern’s immediate target, as the Bavarians navigate the perilous path between the Champions League and the Bundesliga, the banquet versus the bread-and-butter. A day after being handed the ultimate glamour tie in Europe, the German league leaders are determined to beat Eintracht and at least maintain their advantage in the domestic standings.

“My players are used to this. They’re pros and have coped well so far. We have the ability, but it’s always difficult,” said coach Louis van Gaal ahead of Saturday’s trip to Frankfurt (Live in English from 3.15 pm on FCB.tv Web Radio). “Switching focus is easy,” said skipper Mark van Bommel, “our aim is the league title, so we have to win in Frankfurt, and if we play to form, we should do so.”
