At around twenty to eleven on Saturday evening, a shriek of delight rang out in the ZDF TV studios. It came from the five-strong TSV Germania Windeck delegation, who had just witnessed Germany women’s international Kim Kulig draw the Oberliga North-Rhine Westphalia outfit at home to holders Bayern in the 2010-11 DFB Cup first round.
“It's incredible, it’s unbelievable, and I’m lost for words,” stammered club president Heinz Georg Willmeroth. “We had Schalke last year, and now Bayern. I don’t know what we’ve done, but it’s fantastic.” The minnows from Windeck lost 4-0 to Bundesliga runners-up Schalke at the same stage last term.
