A host of VIP and celebrity guests attended Uli Hoeneß’s 60th birthday party at Munich’s Postpalast on Friday evening, including DFB president-elect Wolfgang Niersbach, DFL CEO Christian Seifert, and Klaus Allofs, Rudi Völler and Clemens Tönnies from rival Bundesliga clubs Werder Bremen, Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke. Naturally, big names from football dominated the guest list for the evening.
However, a number of senior political and business figures were also there, including Bavarian prime minister Horst Seehofer, his predecessor Dr. Edmund Stoiber, Bavarian interior minister Joachim Herrmann, culture minister Dr. Wolfgang Heubisch, Munich deputy mayor Christine Strobl, Volkswagen AG chairman Prof. Dr Martin Winterkorn, Deutsche Telekom AG chairman René Obermann, and adidas chairman Herbert Hainer.
The representatives of Germany’s biggest club included board directors Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Karl Hopfner and Andreas Jung, honorary president Franz Beckenbauer, the supervisory board, the advisory board, and the playing and coaching staffs of the club’s football and basketball Bundesliga teams. Former FCB coaches Udo Lattek and Otto Rehhagel were also present, with a host of ex-players including Oliver Kahn, Stefan Effenberg, Lothar Matthäus, Bixente Lizarazu, Sepp Maier, Gerd Müller and Bernd Dürnberger.
