The Lufthansa charter flight bearing the Bayern party touched down in Munich early on Wednesday morning after around eight hours in the air. It marked the end of an exceptionally positive nine-day training camp in Doha, with a final excursion to New Delhi. The players were visibly weary as they waited to pick up their luggage at around 5.30 in the morning, but that was hardly surprising after a punishing training schedule, exacerbated by the inevitable jetlag.
“We're all very tired, but that's completely normal after our hard programme," head coach Jupp Heynckes informed FCB.tv. However, the players only have a brief period of recovery now, as Heynckes has ordered them back to the Säbener Strasse this Thursday afternoon, albeit for a relatively light training session. The coach explained that he did not want to hand his man two consecutive days off during the mid-season period.
