Deschamps puts faith in third-choice keeper

The third-choice keeper will play, but Olympique Marseille may be without two of their best players when they take on Bayern this Wednesday evening. With star goalkeeper and club captain Steve Mandanda serving a suspension, Elinton Andrade has earned a chance between the sticks, coach Didier Deschamps announced at Tuesday's pre-match news conference. However, there are question marks over striker Loic Remy and winger André Ayew.

Andrade (pictured below, left) is the number three goalkeeper in the Marseille squad. The 32-year-old Brazilian has yet to play a match this season, and makes his Champions League debut on Wednesday night. “I had to take a decision, and I believe this is the best one for the team," said Deschamps, explaining why he had declined to name reserve goalkeeper Gennaro Bracigliano, who had a miserable night a week ago in an embarrassing French cup exit to a third division side.
