Bayern machine ‘already running smoothly’

The stars didn't hang around after Saturday's 3-0 Bundesliga restart victory away to Greuther Fürth, as the Bayern bus was on its way less than an hour after the final whistle. “We feel good and we're smiling," said Thomas Müller. It was indeed an ideal start to the campaign. “That's what we were hoping for. We've scored a couple of goals and kept a clean sheet. We've done what we had to do," stated keeper Manuel Neuer.

The goals by Müller (43), Mario Mandzukic (59) and what was later classified as an own goal by Fürth defender Thomas Kleine (79) sealed an ultimately comfortable first victory of the 50th Bundesliga season. “We've set our sights very high indeed," commented boss Jupp Heynckes, “the team is fired up and very motivated, and we're all putting in excellent work, so I'm not surprised by the result."
