After being held to two draws in a row, Bayern bounced back on Bundesliga Matchday 13 with a scintillating 5-0 win over outclassed Hannover. “It was a thoroughly deserved victory and we were top class," said Jupp Heynckes. To add to the joy, Javi Martinez, Dante and Mario Gomez all scored first goals of term. “It was incredible, I was really elated, and I remembered how much football matters to me," Gomez said.
Reaction to Bayern v Hannover:
Jupp Heynckes: “It was a thoroughly deserved victory and we were top class, because we were very assertive and aggressive from the start, and we kept it tighter than we have done recently. We needed total concentration, especially in defence, but the team showed that brilliantly for 90 minutes.”
Philipp Lahm: “We were very, very good today. We put them under pressure from the start and it was 3-0 at half-time, but even after that, we didn't ease back. We can be very satisfied. We go to Freiburg on Wednesday with our usual target of winning, but we know it's a difficult away match. We've always made heavy weather of the trip to Freiburg in recent years, so we'll need to play focused football from the start, just like today.”
