Bayern star Holger Badstuber has undergone successful surgery to repair damage to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The Germany international, who sustained the serious injury in an accidental collision during Saturday’s home meeting with Borussia Dortmund, was treated in Augsburg by renowned surgeon Dr. Ulrich Boenisch. “It all went well,” FCB chief medical officer Dr Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt announced after the operation. The 23-year-old Badstuber is likely to be out of action for five months.
Millions tune in to big game
Last weekend’s Bundesliga Clasico between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund provided subscription TV channel Sky with its best share of viewing this season. Some 1.28 million viewers in Germany watched the 1-1 draw between the runaway league leaders and the resigning champions, a total audience share of 5.3 percent. In the 14-49 age group, the share of viewing rose to 8.7 percent. The reverse fixture in Dortmund last season drew 1.4 million viewers, although it was in the 30th round of matches and was billed as the title decider.
