Heynckes: A win would have been deserved

In the last Bundesliga fixture before the winter break, Bayern were well on top for the full 90 minutes against Borussia Mönchengladbach but had to be satisfied with a 1-1 draw, Thorben Marx opening for the visitors against the run of play and Xherdan Shaqiri salvaging a point with his first Bundesliga goal. “I'm very satisfied despite the draw," summarised boss Jupp Heynckes after FCB's final home match in 2012.

Reaction to Bayern v Gladbach:

Jupp Heynckes: “I'm very satisfied, despite the 1-1 draw. We dictated the play for the full 90 minutes, and especially in the second half, we were outstanding. Borussia didn't create a single chance, but it wasn't easy today against very defensive opponents. However, based on the second half, a win would have been deserved. Ter Stegen was the best man on the park. He made some outstanding saves. We had plenty of chances but we failed to take them. In defence, we gave them nothing. I have no criticism of my team.”
