It'll be no stroll in Stuttgart, boss warns

After the winning start to the second half of the Bundesliga season against Greuther Fürth, Bayern are now determined to double their points tally in 2013 away to South German rivals VfB Stuttgart on Sunday (Live in English from 5:30 pm CET on FCB.tv Web Radio). However, the fixture is a much more challenging prospect than last weekend's home meeting with the bottom club.

“It'll be no stroll," warned boss Jupp Heynckes, “it's a classic fixture, the South German derby in front of a sell-out crowd, a match where the emotional temperature is always high. We'll have to up our game, and that's what I've been telling my lads over the last few days."

Matthias Sammer is also expecting a far tougher encounter than the fixture against Fürth. “Our approach has to be that we won’t be handed anything for free in Stuttgart," the board director for sport told FCB.tv shortly before the team bus left for Swabia, “we've been warned and we have to be prepared." VfB currently lie 10th in the standings and drew with both Leverkusen and Dortmund before Christmas.
