Forewarned Bayern expect fierce fight in Mainz

Jupp Heynckes and Thomas Tuchel know each other well, and respect each other greatly. The pair have squared off seven times in the Bundesliga so far, with the Bayern boss just ahead of his Mainz counterpart on three victories to two, with two draws. “He's a likeable colleague and gets through very good work," said Heynckes on the eve of his eighth duel with the highly-rated Tuchel. And FCB know it will be another fierce fight when they travel to face FSV Mainz on Saturday afternoon (Live in English from 3.30 pm on Web Radio).

“It's never easy against them. The team has a good structure and good tactics," the Munich supremo mused, “and FC Bayern have made very heavy weather of it against Mainz in recent years." Last season is a good example, as Germany's biggest club lost 3-2 away from home and were held to a goalless draw at the Allianz Arena. “But despite that, we have to be capable of seeing off even a team as cleverly assembled as this," Heynckes urged.
