Sparkling football but no champagne for FCB

It was the kind of magic night destined to stick in the memory for years. Bayern controlled a match despite having only 34 percent of the possession. Barcelona's famed attack ran up vainly against the rock of Munich's defence time and time again. Thomas Müller, hobbling with cramp, somehow managed to score the best goal of the night.

It was strong magic filling the Allianz Arena air on Tuesday night, and the fans, players and officials were still entranced as they made their way home. “We've beaten the best team in the world 4-0. It's like a dream," commented Karl-Heinz Rummenigge immediately after the final whistle, “even I've never experienced an evening like that, and I've been around a long time."
