On the right stuff, spice and the big cup

They came from Japan, Finland, Malta, Brazil and a host of other countries, pushing FCB to the full 90 minutes plus extra time. Eleven days prior to the Champions League final, some 190 reporters from 18 nations flocked to the Allianz Arena for a UEFA Media Open Day and the chance to quiz head coach Jupp Heynckes, club captains Philipp Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger, and forwards Thomas Müller and Arjen Robben.

The event at the Arena Press Club also drew some 30 TV crews, a dozen photographers and a veritable media circus. The questions covered topics such as who starts as favourites, how intense is the pressure, and the differences this year compared to last. fcbayern.de picks out the best of the answers.

What does the Champions League final mean to you personally?
“I'd be lying if I said it wasn't special. We're all really looking forward to it, including me personally. I sense the same thing from the players, their statements, their gestures, the mood and the atmosphere. We're all focused on the final and gearing up for it."
